In the Fon language, vodun means the unseen forces at work in the world, and the deities who embody them. Born in the kingdoms of the Bight of Benin, Vodun is at once a religion, a knowledge of plants, a social order and an artistic heritage.
Chaque divinité a ses couvents, ses prêtres et ses initiés, ses chants, ses couleurs et ses interdits. Les traditions varient d'Ouidah à Abomey, de Porto-Novo à Savalou. Nous présentons celles que notre famille connaît et pratique, sans prétendre parler au nom de toutes.
